Mordacia Starbanner — Aged 47 — Beloved Mother, Cherished Wife, Member of the Kirin Tor & Daughter of Lordaeron. May She be Forever Remembered, Loved and Honored.

At least, that’s what she imagined would have been on her family plaque had her body been interred on their family lands in Kul Tiras. It would have been typical and worthy of her status, but her father had her name added to a memorial in Stormwind City’s graveyard, not too far from the Church’s old crypts, almost a year after the fall and from then on it was where they both went to pay their respects. This was the first year Ahlis had gone alone.

She placed a bouquet of red chrysanthemums, her mother’s favorite, among the array of other flowers placed on the memorial. Her’s looked so bright against the dark granite where her name was engraved. With a gloved hand Ahlis pushed away old leaves and grass.

I haven’t forgotten you, mother.

A crisp spring breeze caught the large branches of an oak tree above her head. It was around this time of year that she too, had died. Almost, anyway, if it weren’t those humanitarians. Ahlis took a deep breath and took in the scent of new leaves and dandelions. Can’t be dallying too long, not in this city anyway. Mother would understand…the work is never finished. She had to rue on that for a moment…she had become more like her mother than she ever thought.
